Cup Clash Comes Home After Glimt Silence Sold-Out Intility Arena
Bodø/Glimt edged past a sold-out Vålerenga on the new artificial pitch at Intility Arena on 8 August, leaving the home side without points from their biggest home fixture of the season. The club has responded by moving the upcoming Norwegian Cup tie against Christiania BK to Intility Arena, keeping the stadium busy as a demanding autumn schedule takes shape.
Glimt Take Three Points on Debut of New Surface
Intility Arena's freshly laid artificial pitch got its sternest possible first test when Bodø/Glimt came to Oslo on 8 August — and the northern visitors made sure the new surface's maiden Eliteserien outing ended in disappointment for the home faithful. Glimt edged past Vålerenga in what had been billed as the standout home fixture of the 2026 season.
A sold-out Intility Arena — capacity 16,556 — created the kind of atmosphere the stadium is known for, yet the result left the home side pointless from what was arguably their biggest home test of the campaign so far.
Cup Lifeline: Christiania BK Tie Moved to Intility Arena
With the Eliteserien loss still fresh, Vålerenga's attention now turns to the Norwegian Cup. The club announced on 14 August that the upcoming cup clash against Christiania BK has been moved to Intility Arena, giving supporters another home fixture to look forward to in short order.
The decision to bring the tie to Intility Arena means the cup run will now be played in front of a proper crowd, rather than at a neutral or smaller venue — a boost both for the players and the club's finances as the autumn programme takes shape.
A Packed Autumn Still Ahead
Despite the Glimt setback, the fixture list offers plenty to be excited about. Eliteserien matches against Molde (29 August), Brann, Fredrikstad, and Rosenborg are all still to come at Intility Arena before the curtain falls on 2026. Vålerenga Women are also in action at the ground, with a Toppserien home fixture against Hønefoss W pencilled in for 19 August.
The new artificial surface — installed during the summer break specifically to prepare the stadium for this demanding run of games — will have plenty of opportunities to host big occasions. With the cup, the Toppserien, and a string of top-six Eliteserien opponents all incoming, Intility Arena's autumn calendar is as full as it has been all year.
