Intility Arena Goes Circular with Full Stadium Reusable Cup Rollout
Intility Arena has expanded its TOMRA Reuse reusable cup system to cover the entire stadium, following a successful pilot last season. All kiosks in the main tribunes now serve cold drinks in reusable cups, with 13 automated return points available for fans throughout the ground. Deposits can even be donated to support the club's youth and community programmes.
Intility Goes Fully Circular
Intility Arena has taken a major step in its sustainability journey, rolling out a full-scale reusable cup system across the entire stadium. Following a successful pilot during the previous season, Vålerenga football club has since May expanded its TOMRA Reuse system so that all kiosks within the main tribunes now serve cold drinks in reusable cups.
Fans can return used cups at any of 13 automated "Throw&Go" collection points, strategically placed near exits and kiosks throughout the ground — making it as easy as possible to participate.
Donations Straight to the Community
The initiative also carries a social dimension. Supporters have the option to donate their cup deposit rather than reclaim it, with dedicated manual drop-off bins available for those who wish to give back. Donated deposits go directly towards the football club's local youth and social activities.
During the pilot phase last season, more than 30 per cent of returned cups were donated to the club — a figure that bodes well as the full system now reaches every corner of Intility Arena.
A Stadium Setting the Standard
The move positions Intility Arena as one of the leading venues in Norwegian football for environmental responsibility. With the stadium hosting multiple fixtures each week this autumn — across Eliteserien, Toppserien and the reserve league — the volume of reusable cups in circulation is set to grow significantly.
