Vålerenga and Fredrikstad played out a tightly contested 1-1 draw at Intility Arena on Sunday afternoon in Eliteserien Round 22. A goalless first half gave way to an eventful second period that kept the home crowd of 10,865 on the edge of their seats throughout.
Fredrikstad broke the deadlock when Solomon Owusu found the net on 52 minutes, assisted by Leach Holm, to put the visitors ahead. Vålerenga hit back through Sebastian Jarl, who levelled on 76 minutes with an assist from L. Haren to earn the hosts a share of the spoils.
Drama in the Closing Stages
The match took a dramatic turn late on when Fredrikstad's I. Amundsen was shown a red card on 82 minutes, leaving the visitors to see out the final minutes with ten men. Despite the numerical advantage, Vålerenga were unable to find a winner before the full-time whistle.
The draw leaves Vålerenga in 12th place in the Eliteserien table, and while a win would have been the preferred outcome in front of a packed home end, the point keeps the Oslo club in touch with the teams above them.

Intility Arena drew an attendance of 10,865, filling roughly 66 percent of the stadium's 16,556 capacity. The ground, which received a brand-new pitch ahead of the autumn fixture run, has been busy in recent weeks with home matches across multiple competitions, and Sunday's Eliteserien clash continued what has been a packed schedule at the venue.
Vålerenga's next home fixture at Intility is still to come, with the women's side set to host Rosenborg W on October 4.
