New Pitch, Big Names: Intility Arena Primed for a Historic Autumn
Intility Arena has entered the second half of the 2026 Eliteserien season with a brand-new artificial surface and a home schedule that reads like a who's who of Norwegian football. Bodø/Glimt, Molde, Brann, Fredrikstad and Rosenborg are all set to visit Oslo's Valle Hovin ground before the campaign is out. The arena's 16,556-capacity stands are expected to be tested repeatedly over the coming months.
A Ground Transformed Over the Break
Intility Arena returned from the Eliteserien summer break with one of the most visible upgrades in its recent history: a completely new artificial surface. The old pitch has been replaced in full, and the arena's groundstaff had the new mat ready in time for the home fixture against Ham-Kam on 31 July — Vålerenga's first home match of the second half of the 2026 season.
The investment signals renewed ambition at the Valle Hovin ground, which holds 16,556 spectators and sits in the eastern side of Oslo.
A Blockbuster Autumn Schedule
The new surface will be put through its paces by some of Norwegian football's biggest clubs over the coming months. After hosting Bodø/Glimt on 8 August, Vålerenga will welcome Molde on 29 August, Fredrikstad on 20 September, and Brann on 18 October — all at Intility Arena. The season closes with a potentially title-defining clash against Rosenborg, pencilled in for 6 December.
Vålerenga Women are also part of the arena's autumn programme, with a Toppserien home match against Hønefoss W scheduled for 19 August.
Know Before You Go
With increased demand expected for several of these fixtures, the arena has reminded supporters of its stadium rules ahead of what promises to be a busy few months. The Østblokka and Oslotaxi Tribune remain exclusively reserved for Vålerenga fans, while away supporters are directed to the designated away section in fields 201 and 202.
The arena operates a strict no-smoking and no-re-entry policy throughout. Children aged four and under are admitted free of charge when seated on a parent's lap, and discounted tickets are available for students, seniors, military personnel and children up to 12 years of age through the club's official ticketing platform.
