New Pitch, Blockbuster Autumn: Intility Arena Braced for Big Clashes
Intility Arena unveiled a brand-new artificial surface this summer, just in time for a run of marquee Eliteserien fixtures. Bodø/Glimt silenced a sold-out crowd of 16,556 on the pitch's debut, winning 2–1 on 8 August. Molde, Brann, Fredrikstad and Rosenborg are all still to come — alongside a relocated cup tie against Christiania BK.
A New Surface for the Run-In
Intility Arena entered the second half of the 2026 Eliteserien season with one of its most significant infrastructure upgrades in recent years. During the summer break, a brand-new artificial grass surface was laid at the Valle Hovin ground, replacing the old pitch and readying the stadium for the most demanding stretch of Vålerenga's campaign.
The new surface was first used when Ham-Kam visited on 31 July, but it was truly put to the test on 8 August, when reigning title challengers Bodø/Glimt arrived in Oslo in what had been billed as the most anticipated home match of the entire 2026 season. A sold-out crowd of 16,556 packed the arena — only to be silenced by a 2–1 victory for the visitors from the north.
A Calendar Stacked with Heavyweights
The defeat to Bodø/Glimt is far from the end of the excitement at Intility Arena this autumn. Molde are the next top-flight visitors, due on 29 August, followed later in the season by Fredrikstad on 20 September, Brann on 18 October, Tromsø, and a season-closing showdown with Rosenborg pencilled in for 6 December.
The cup programme adds further depth to an already packed fixture list. Vålerenga's tie against Christiania BK, confirmed on 14 August, has been relocated to Intility Arena, bringing yet another home occasion to Valle Hovin before the year is out.
On the women's side, Vålerenga W brought Toppserien action to the ground on 19 August when they hosted Hønefoss W, with a home clash against Rosenborg W also scheduled for later in the season.
Tickets and Stadium Information
With demand running high ahead of the Molde fixture and the relocated cup tie, tickets are on sale now through the club's official ticketing platform. Discounts are available for students, seniors, military personnel and children up to 12 years of age, and children aged four and under are admitted free when seated on a parent's lap.
Visitors are reminded that the Østblokka and Oslotaxi Tribune are reserved exclusively for Vålerenga supporters. Away fans are directed to the designated sections in fields 201 and 202. The stadium operates a strict no-smoking and no-re-entry policy, and intoxicated persons will be refused entry.
