New Pitch, Top Rivals: Intility Arena Ready for Autumn Showdowns
Intility Arena has unveiled a brand-new artificial surface just as Vålerenga's most demanding stretch of the 2026 season gets under way. Title challengers Bodø/Glimt were first to test the new turf on 8 August, with Molde, Brann, Fredrikstad and Rosenborg all still to visit. A cup tie against Christiania BK has also been moved to the stadium.
A Fresh Surface for a Crucial Run-In
Intility Arena entered the second half of the 2026 Eliteserien season with a brand-new artificial surface laid down during the summer break. The upgraded pitch was completed just in time for Vålerenga's most demanding fixture sequence of the year, giving the club a pristine home advantage as they push for a top-half finish.
The stadium, which holds more than 16,500 supporters, had already hosted its first post-break match before the big tests arrived. The new surface immediately drew attention as one of the most visible improvements made to the ground ahead of a packed autumn calendar.
Bodø/Glimt Headline a Blockbuster Home Schedule
The new pitch faced its first major examination on 8 August when title challengers Bodø/Glimt made the trip to Oslo for an Eliteserien Round 17 clash — billed as one of the most anticipated home fixtures of the entire 2026 campaign. Demand for tickets was high, with the match widely regarded as a genuine six-pointer in the context of the title race.
The Glimt visit is only the beginning of a remarkable sequence. Molde are next through the doors on 29 August, and Brann, Fredrikstad and Rosenborg are all still to come before the curtain falls on the season — a run of opponents that reads like a who's who of Norwegian top-flight football.
Tickets, Access and Stadium Rules
Tickets for the remaining home fixtures are on sale through the club's official ticketing platform. Discounts are available for students, seniors, military personnel and children up to 12 years of age, while children aged four and under are admitted free when seated on a parent's lap.
Away supporters are allocated seats in the designated away section in blocks 201 and 202. The Østblokka and Oslotaxi Tribune remain exclusively for Vålerenga fans. The stadium's standard rules — no smoking, no re-entry and refusal of admission to intoxicated persons — remain in effect throughout.
Cup Tie Moved to Intility Arena
In further news this week, a Norwegian Cup match against Christiania BK has been relocated to Intility Arena, giving supporters yet another reason to visit the ground before the month is out. With a gleaming new surface underfoot and a schedule packed with top-six rivals, the stadium is firmly at the centre of Vålerenga's 2026 ambitions.
