The summer break was put to excellent use off the pitch, with a brand-new artificial grass surface laid at the stadium — ensuring the playing surface is in peak condition for the demanding run of fixtures ahead.
The restart could hardly have gone better. Vålerenga put six goals past Aalesund on 16 July — the first home match back after the break — sending supporters home in high spirits and setting the tone for what promises to be a memorable second half of the campaign.
