Brand-New Pitch Sets the Stage for Intility Arena's Autumn Showdowns
Intility Arena has unveiled a brand-new artificial surface ahead of the second half of the 2026 Eliteserien season. The upgrade arrives just as Vålerenga's home schedule enters its most exciting stretch, with Molde, Brann, Fredrikstad and Rosenborg all still to visit Oslo. Women's and reserve-team fixtures will also keep the stadium busy throughout August.
A New Pitch for a New Chapter
Intility Arena heads into the second half of the 2026 Eliteserien season with a significant infrastructure upgrade completed: the stadium's old playing surface has been replaced by a brand-new artificial pitch. The installation signals a renewed sense of ambition at Vålerenga's Oslo home, just as the fixture list enters its most demanding stretch.
The work was completed in time for the Bodø/Glimt clash on 8 August, ensuring the arena was match-ready for one of the biggest home dates of the season.
What the New Surface Means for Fans
For supporters, the new pitch is more than just an aesthetic upgrade — it is designed to deliver consistent playing conditions throughout the Norwegian autumn and into the winter months, when the weather in Oslo can be unforgiving. With major opponents still to visit, the timing of the renovation could prove decisive for how Vålerenga perform on home soil in the critical final months of the campaign.
Intility Arena holds 16,556 spectators and enforces a strict no-smoking, no-re-entry policy on matchdays. Away supporters are directed to designated sections in fields 201 and 202, while the Østblokka and Oslotaxi Tribune remain exclusively for Vålerenga fans.
A Blockbuster Autumn Ahead
The upcoming home schedule reads like a who's who of Norwegian football. Molde visit on 29 August, followed later in the season by Brann, Fredrikstad, Tromsø and, finally, Rosenborg — currently scheduled for 6 December in what would be a memorable way to close out the home campaign.
Vålerenga Women also bring top-flight action to the arena, with Toppserien fixtures against Hønefoss W on 19 August among the highlights. Vålerenga II meanwhile continue their 3. Division programme at the ground, with a home match against IF Ready set for 17 August.
With the new surface bedded in and a packed calendar ahead, Intility Arena is primed for what promises to be the most compelling run of home fixtures of the 2026 season.
