A full house of 16,556 turned out at Intility Arena on 8 August as Vålerenga hosted Bodø/Glimt in one of the most anticipated home fixtures of the 2026 Eliteserien season. Goals from S. Auklend and O. Blomberg gave the northern visitors a 2–1 victory. The match was also the first on Intility Arena's brand-new artificial surface, installed during the summer break.
A Full House and a Tough Result
A capacity crowd of 16,556 packed into Intility Arena on Saturday 8 August for Vålerenga's Eliteserien Round 17 clash with Bodø/Glimt — and they witnessed a closely fought contest that ultimately ended in heartbreak for the hosts.
Bodø/Glimt took the lead before half-time through S. Auklend in the 19th minute, and despite Vålerenga pulling level, O. Blomberg struck in the 76th minute to seal a 2–1 victory for the visitors. The final scoreline, 1–2, sent the away end home satisfied while leaving Intility Arena in subdued silence at the final whistle.
New Pitch, Same Passion
The match was also a landmark occasion for the stadium itself. Intility Arena debuted a brand-new artificial surface, installed during the summer break and completed just in time for one of the biggest home dates of the 2026 Eliteserien calendar. The pitch drew attention across the league, with the upgrade signalling renewed ambition at Vålerenga's Oslo home ground.
The stadium was filled to its exact capacity — every one of its 16,556 seats taken — underlining the enormous pull of the fixture. Temperatures sat at a pleasant 18°C, providing near-ideal conditions for football on the fresh surface.
What Comes Next
The defeat is a setback, but the home schedule offers plenty of opportunities to bounce back. Molde visit Intility Arena on 29 August in Eliteserien Round 19, with an afternoon kick-off at 16:00 local time. Tickets are already on sale through the club's official platform.
Before then, Vålerenga Women bring Toppserien action to the arena on 19 August when they host Hønefoss W. Supporters looking to keep the matchday atmosphere alive in the coming weeks will have no shortage of reasons to return to Intility Arena this autumn.
