Vålerenga Thrash Aalesund 6–1 in Intility Arena Masterclass
Vålerenga delivered a stunning six-goal home performance against Aalesund at Intility Arena on 16 July, storming to a 6–1 Eliteserien victory. Goals from Lucas Haren, Filip Thorvaldsen, Endre Osenbroch and Mohamed Ofkir fired the hosts to one of the highlights of their season so far. A Night to Remember at Intility Arena
Vålerenga put on a commanding performance at Intility Arena on Thursday 16 July, dismantling Aalesund 6–1 in an Eliteserien Matchweek 14 fixture. The hosts were dominant from the first half, going into the break with a clean 3–0 lead before running riot after the interval.
Lucas Haren opened the scoring and added a second before the break, with Filip Thorvaldsen also getting in on the act. The second half brought more of the same, with Thorvaldsen adding another and Endre Osenbroch making it four before Mohamed Ofkir rounded off the rout with a brace late on.
The result underlines Vålerenga's formidable home record at Intility Arena, where the east Oslo faithful have come to expect big performances on the artificial turf.
Second Half Fireworks
The match referee was Daniel Higraff, with VAR support provided by Eivind Bodding. Aalesund pulled back a consolation goal late in the second half, but there was no way back against a Vålerenga side that looked sharp, well-organised and hungry from the first whistle.
Filip Thorvaldsen was involved in much of the best football on the night, contributing both goals and assists across the ninety minutes. Mohamed Ofkir also impressed off the bench, netting twice in the closing stages to put the gloss on what was already a convincing victory.
Eyes on the Next Home Date
With the win secured, attention at Intility Arena now turns to the next home fixture. Vålerenga are due to host Ham-Kam on 31 July in what will be another Eliteserien encounter under the Oslo skies.
The upcoming schedule also includes a tantalising home clash against Bodø/Glimt on 8 August, a match that is sure to generate considerable buzz around the stadium.
