New Pitch, Packed Fixtures: Intility Arena Gears Up for a Blockbuster Autumn
Intility Arena has unveiled a brand-new artificial surface just in time for the most demanding stretch of the 2026 Eliteserien season. Title challengers Bodø/Glimt have already visited, with Molde, Brann, Fredrikstad and Rosenborg all still to come. A relocated cup tie against Christiania BK adds further excitement to an already stacked home schedule.
A New Surface for a New Challenge
Intility Arena has received one of its most significant infrastructure upgrades in recent years. During the Eliteserien summer break, a brand-new artificial grass surface was laid at the Valle Hovin ground, replacing the old pitch and ensuring the stadium is in peak condition as Vålerenga enter the most demanding stretch of their 2026 campaign.
The work was completed in time for the return of top-flight football, with the fresh surface already put to the test by some of the biggest names in Norwegian football.
Bodø/Glimt Visit Headlines a Stacked Schedule
The new pitch was well and truly christened on Saturday 8 August, when reigning title challengers Bodø/Glimt made the trip to Oslo. The fixture was widely regarded as one of the most anticipated home matches of the entire 2026 season at the 16,556-capacity arena.
That clash is just the beginning. Molde are due at Intility Arena on 29 August, followed later in the season by Brann on 18 October, Fredrikstad on 20 September, and a season-closing showdown with Rosenborg pencilled in for 6 December — a run of fixtures that represents one of the most compelling home schedules the stadium has seen in years.
Cup Tie Relocated to Intility Arena
Adding further weight to an already packed autumn, Vålerenga's cup tie against Christiania BK has been moved to Intility Arena. The club confirmed the relocation on 14 August, meaning the stadium will host even more action than originally planned across the coming months.
On the women's side, Vålerenga W bring Toppserien football to the ground on 19 August when they host Hønefoss W, while Vålerenga II continue their 3. Division campaign with a home match against IF Ready on 17 August.
What to Know Before You Visit
With demand high for upcoming fixtures, tickets are on sale now through the club's official ticketing platform. Discounts are available for students, seniors, military personnel and children up to 12 years of age, and children aged four and under are admitted free when seated on a parent's lap.
Visitors should note that the Østblokka and Oslotaxi Tribune are reserved exclusively for Vålerenga supporters, with away fans directed to the designated sections in fields 201 and 202. The stadium operates a strict no-smoking and no-re-entry policy, and intoxicated persons will be refused entry.
